Staffordshire Bull Terrier
White and Black
Here is our beautiful Kimbo, he is a 4-year-old Staffie who hasn’t had the best start in life.
He was confined to a small space within the home. When he first came into our care, he was very stressed within the kennels, and it was clear he didn’t have many manners, which is understandable given his background. But with time and work that the staff at the centre have put in Kimbo has come on lot since his arrival. His lead work has come on well and he even has a few tricks up his sleeves.
Kimbo has been in foster care for 3 months now with one of the staff members. It took him a little while to settle but he has impressed us so much with the improvements that he has made. Kimbo is very food orientated so picks up new training well. Training will need to be continued within the home as he settles into the new routine. Currently, he is focusing on his settling work and being used to being left on his own, he is making progress with this, and potential adopters will be shown the work that we are doing so that it can be continued in the home. Kimbo is a joy to work with and has great potential. He has enjoyed he agility equipment that we have here as well.
In the home he really enjoys his enrichment such as his meat filled kongs, scent games and destruction boxes. When out and about, he loves his tennis balls!! He is continuing to do well on his walks, his lead work does regress when walking in a new place but once you start the training again, he soon picks it back up. We are still working on his confidence in some new areas, and he is, starting to enjoy walks more rather than rushing through them and not taking anything in.
Kimbo has so much love to give and adores human contact, he really enjoys snuggling up close with you in the evenings with the TV on. He will have fun with playing in the house and enjoying lots of varied enrichment and training games.
Kimbo is looking for an active family and could live with children aged 13 and above. Although Kimbo has lived with other dogs previously, it has been clear during his time with us that he isn’t fully comfortable being around dogs. When out on walks he will make distance from other dogs and try and rush past them. He definitely prefers human company, so we feel he will benefit from being the only pet in the home.
If you think you can offer Kimbo a suitable home, please email us at email@example.com to request a Perfect Match application form.
