Alfie and Stanley

Wire Haired Terrier and an American Bulldog

4 and 6

Alfie and Stanley are our beautiful "brothers". They look an unlikely pair, but thrive well together when in each others company. The two were left abandoned, and since being at the centre have been housed separately. Now the opportunity for rehoming has arrived, these lovely boys would like to go to their new home together.

Alfie is the 4yr old wire haired terrier and Stanley is the 6yr old white American Bulldog.

Stanley is a super happy and friendly boy, more so when out of his kennel. He does struggle to settle down and can be quite vocal when hearing other dogs or seeing new people.

Stanley can pull on his lead and he doesn't seem to realise his own size and strength so this will need work in his new home. He enjoys playing with Alfie and they walk side by side together on walks. Stanley loves his soft balls and will play with them all day, he can over-exert himself quickly and become tired. He's a very clever boy and knows "sit", "paw" and "down". Stanley ideally would be rehomed with Alfie to a family with older children that can give them both the love and attention needed and people to continue his training and manners work on and off lead.

Alfie is such a sweet and scruffy little guy that really loves to explore the world around him. Most of the time he is a quiet boy usually found resting in his bed. He likes to explore new places with his nose to help him learn more about what is going on around him. He loves fuss and attention and he likes his treats, and enjoys his food enrichment. Alfie has been really tolerant and patient with grooming

When walking a him off site, we have passed other dogs and he is generally uninterested in their presence. As mentioned, he gets on amazingly with his brother Stanley.

Alfie is a clever young man who has an interest in learning. From what we have seen of him so far, he knows "sit", "paw" and is giving toys up on command, although not too interested in toys. He does pull a little on lead, again this is manageable and usually because he is wanting to keep up with his brother.

As Alfie and Stanley would love the opportunity to be rehomed together, we advise that a home with children aged 10 or over would be most suitable, and for them to be the only pets in the home.

This assessment is ongoing and subject to change.
