PROFILE

Gerald is our 2-year-old Domestic Shorthair boy. He was found and brought to us as a stray but is now ready to become a fully-fledged member of the family to whoever is ready to give him a home.

Gerald is a cat that needs to have his space and boundaries respected, especially during the settling in period in the home. He would benefit from having an area of space to call his own were he can take himself off to when he wants some time to chill.

Gerald is very explorative little guy, and although he can take a little while to settle into new environments- this side of his personality helps him learn more about where he is. With new people, he prefers to watch from a distance with some curiosity before approaching for a head scratch or two.

Although he is most certainly coming around to some fuss and attention, he isn’t currently a cat that benefits from being picked up or held, he’s also quite unsure of his back end being stroked so this should be considered when welcoming him into the home.

As this sweet lad can have his moments of uncertainty, and does enjoy some peace and quiet occasionally with time to himself, he is looking for a home where any cat-savvy children are of secondary school age.

Gerald likes to play with toys on occasion, but he is not crazy about them, of course this could change once he enters a home environment, he is also capable of using cat flaps and litter trays with no difficulty at all.

Gerald is a cat who likes to let you know when he wants something so be prepared to listen to his meows when he is hungry or wants some fuss!!

He can be a bit of a grump around other cats so it is recommended he is the only cat in the household, as well as no dogs in the home.

He may be able to live with small furries or exotics dependant on accommodation location and security in the home.

If you think you can provide the precious Gerald with the forever home he’s looking for, then please email info@rspca-preston.org.uk to request an application form.
