Grey and White
Gandalf is our 3-year-old grey and white domestic shorthair.
Gandalf is a timid but friendly boy. When he first arrived in our cattery, he was scared and found it all quite stressful, spending most of his time hiding away in a bed outside. He has grown in confidence since arriving with us and he is starting to come out of his shell more and more. He will still tend to hide away when you first enter the pod and takes a little encouragement to have a walk around but he will do it and is happy to receive some fuss.
When approached and spoken to, Gandalf will take a moment but will slowly come out to say hello and come over for strokes. He enjoys and responds well to being stroked, and will rub his face on your hand, purring. He will climb over and around your legs and will let you know to carry on stroking him if you stop! He was initially a little unsure of being brushed but after a moment leans into it and enjoys grooming sessions. While he can be a little timid at first, Gandalf is very affectionate and chatty and now will greet us at his pod door for attention.
Gandalf spends most of his time in his outside pod area in his hidey bed, but staff have noticed he will now wander around his pod, and has ventured into the cattery too, becoming more adventurous as he gets more confident. Gandalf does not really play with toys in his pod, but with time to settle in his new environment, this could change as he becomes more comfortable.
Gandalf can use his cat flap and he uses his litter trays with no issues. He is neutered and fully vaccinated. Gandalf would benefit from being the only pet in the home due to his initial timidness, but could be rehomed with children 11+.
