Winifred the domestic short hair cat

Meet Winifred, also known as Winnie!

Winnie is a nervous kitten, although once she's been given the time to gain her confidence she enjoys a fuss. She likes to explore new surroundings in her own time. Whilst undisturbed, Winnie is often hiding under a cat tree or in her bed.

Winnie is fearful of grooming, and tries to run away from the brush. This will be something that new owners would need to work with gaining her confidence in. She enjoys her treats and food time, and this will be a sure fire way to her heart!

When trying to pick up/handle Winnie, she needs a slow and steady approach. She's slowly increasing in confidence, and will let you pick her up. However, she is not currently a cat you can cuddle into your chest and carry for long distances. Winnie would much rather a family who will let her come to you and gain her confidence at her own speed.

Winnie is unsure of toys at the moment, but will sometimes play with her siblings and on her own. In particular, she plays with small, tinkly toys, like ping-pong balls or tinkling bells.

Due to her nervous nature, we would ideally be seeking a home with children older than 10 years old. Winnie and her sisters are cat flu carriers, and so she will be seeking a home as the only cat in the home. Winnie can be rehomed to a home with a cat-friendly-dog.

If you think you can provide Winnie with her forever home please get in touch by emailing us at for a perfect match application form.

I may be able to live with a friendly dog

I'm a shy guy; I'll need time to settle

I could live with children secondary school age

I'd prefer to be the only cat in a home
